I love me some Lenny's! They have make their own chicken salad and tuna salad there everyday. Lots of repeat customers. Fresh bread and cookies too! They even have their own chips. I highly suggest the salt and vinegar. Lenny's even has a hot dog and it's amazing. The hot pepper relish is one if a kind. I really love the staff. They're fast and friendly. I always suggest Lenny's to my friends. Best sub shop ever.

Mmmmm....Lenny's has some scrumptious roast beef! Lenny's was casual and clean and had fabulous customer service. The employees are friendly and they come by and check on you every once in awhile. They'll even throw your trash away for you. Loved the roast beef with some mayo, lettuce, olives, green peppers, and onions. Lenny's has made it's way into my weekly lunch rotation.

Giving it 4 stars for the friendly staff, pretty good sandwich, and great price. Any time I have gone into this Lenny's is clean and the staff is super friendly. This place, compared to other sub places, has great bread, fresh sliced meats, and the red pepper relish. That stuff is spicy and a little sweet. It really is the "cherry on top" of any sandwich. Simple place, simple food. If you and you're buddy are getting the same sandwich you can split a 15" for a really reasonable price.

I am a new resident of Kansas City, originally from Philadelphia. We love our sandwiches, and we have very high standards for our bread. We are especially fond of cheesesteaks because we are The Cheesesteak Capital of the World. I was really craving a cheesesteak, and Lenny's happened to be my first cheesesteak in my KC Cheesesteak Endeavor. I have to say, it wasn't horrible! I was shopping in Overland Park, and this was the closest cheesesteak joint that had potential. I walked in, and the place reminded me of Subway. Bad sign. I ordered a cheesesteak, which automatically comes with fried onions and american/swiss cheese. You have a choice of wheat, white, or multigrain, and to make it "hoagie-style" (I think that's what they called it) with lettuce, tomato, & mayo. I ordered white without the junk. They took my order, I paid, and they gave me a number. I took a seat, and my order was delivered in about 5 minutes (maybe less). The cheesesteak seemed a little small (it was 7.5 inches, but looked smaller than that). I took my first bite and was pleasantly surprised that it was not that bad. The bread, of course, was pretty crummy, but the meat was flavorful (although a bit salty). I was very full afterwards, even though I thought the cheesesteak was small. Lenny's satisfied my cheesesteak craving, although I will not say I will be rushing back. If I'm in the area and have a serious cheesesteak craving, I will consider it, but I will not go out of my way.

Oh Lenny's subs how you have fallen into being a mediocre place to get a decent philly. I remember a year ago when your large philly was huge and could feed two people, now I buy one for the same price and its half the size... Way to go to the Subway footlong standard I have lost all respect for you as my sub restaurant of choice.

My wife and I have now tried this establishment on two separate occasions. I have tried the Philly Cheesesteak and the Italian. Honestly, I would rather dine at Subway or Mr. Goodcents. Something about the bread at Lenny's is not right. The bread is so "thick and heavy" that it basically takes over the sandwich. The meat on both of the items that I tried were just BLAH. The Philly had no flavor and the Italian I could not even taste the meat. The bread is just so overwhelming. The food isn't awful, it just isn't good. Their prices are absolutely ridiculous! In my opinion, Lenny's is nothing special. I'll just continue to eat at other sub shops for half the price and have my choice of better tasting bread and ingredients.

Came here because I bought a Groupon to try it out. The taste I would say 3.5stars since it's not just A-OK, but i'm not a total fan to say 4 stars either. The ambiance is semi-restaurant style where you order and pay then the workers come to serve your order and there is no trash around to throw away your stuff so I assumed you leave it on the table so we left a tip. We ordered the French Dip sandwich with Au Jus and the Philly Cheesesteak with lettuce and tomatoes. Granted the lettuce and tomatoes are not a usual thing on a Cheesesteak but I like to add healthy things to my sandwiches especially when it is offered. The grilled onions on the other hand did not really fly with me, i'm used to smaller more grilled pieces, the onions I got were strips and granted I can care less if it is pieces or strips I guess what I didn't care for was the onions didn't taste as sweet as I like grilled onions to be. Maybe they didn't use sweet yellow onions and maybe used something different or it's not in season so the flavor is off. Who knows. The French Dip did not come with any accessories, but it was great all around. I would say I enjoyed the French Dip a little better because I felt I tasted the roast beef more than the rib eye (i think) that was supposed to be in the philly. We also picked up some of the daily baked cookies and those were typical but good. One thing I noticed and thought was unique was that the shop has their own potato chips made somewhere else and shipped over for all Lenny's, but not many places have their own branded products which is new. Granted I was stuffed after finishing 2 halves of the sandwiches I felt when it came out it was kind of small to the eyes. But I guess after all the meat and cheese and soft bread one would be stuffed. The 2 sandwiches we got were $6 something each so pricing was a little higher than like a Subway, but here they weren't take out style. Cookies were about $1.10. Menu has hot or cold sandwiches, salads, snacks, and drinks.

I've always been very impressed with Lenny's, they are priced a little high but the food was always delicious, especially the meatball sub and I love the hot pepper relish. That being said, the last couple times I've been to this particular location I found the service to be snotty and incompetent. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich with hot pepper relish on the side. The girl seemed irritated that I had a coupon. When I got my sandwich home there was no hot pepper relish, which makes the sandwich if you ask me, so I was pretty disappointed about that. My husband hot hot pepper relish on his sandwich and scraped some of it off onto mine. A few bites in, I noticed a piece of hair or fuzz in the chicken salad. I was so disgusted. Hair nets people! It's not that difficult. Definitely would not return to this location.

Hadn't been here in over a year, but I've been to this location more than double the times of the 135th Street location. The staff here is so friendly. I love that they come check on you to see if you need anything, even though this is not a full service restaurant. I usually switch between the roast beef and deluxe club (roast beef, turkey, bacon, provolone). Their roast beef is just amazing. Tonight, I had the deluxe club because I was in the mood for bacon. I'd forgotten how much I love their fresh pickles. Yum. One thing to note is that I didn't see the french dip sandwich on this location's menu like I've seen at 135th.

A sandwich is a sandwich, right? Wrong! Lenny's Sub Shop serves up a great philly -- and even better, the staff is friendly. Patient too! My first time there I didn't know where to order ... I didn't know what I wanted ... it was all good to the guy behind the counter. He recommended their chicken philly, which was awesome. It beat the other philly place down 87th, hands down. I didn't eat in, but Lenny's was clean and bright -- two things I like in a lunchtime restaurant. The prices were good too. It's easy to overlook Lenny's -- I actually saw it one day on my way to Thai Place, but it's worth seeking out. If you're tired of surly teenagers serving you crappy sandwiches that you have to eat at a table where you can easily identify the meal of the person before you, give Lenny's a try. He's working hard to win your business!

My husband has been wanting to eat here for at least a month and I kept putting it off thinking I wasn't in the mood for just a sub...well folks just a sub this is NOT!! Lenny's Philly Sub is out of this world. It was fresh, distinctive, and just plain tasty! I can't wait to return.

I think the only way to describe these subs is that they are better than Mr. Goodcents, but not quite as good as Planet Sub. I would definitely recommend this place.

We love Lenny's! My family and I go there almost once a week because it's a great option for eating out when you're trying to eat healthy. We used to frequent Subway and Goodcents, but once we tried Lenny's we can't bare to stray. My favorite thing is that their meat is actually real meat and they give you a hefty portion on each sandwich. They actually weigh each sandwich to make sure it has enough. The staff is a super friendly bunch of teenagers and a great manager, and they are always asking to refill your drink or offer to clear your table. They offer all the normal subs and they also have philly cheesesteaks and chicken phillies. I haven't tried either, but they definately look good on the tables of other eaters. One thing I love is their kid's meals come with a small sandwich, a drink, chips, AND a homemade cookie, which is a great deal. Their chocolate chip cookies are amazing! If you're looking for a great place to grab a quick sub, definately come here. Be prepared that it's a little more expensive, but the quality of the food outweighs the difference in price from a Subway or similar place.

On my first visit they suggested the Philly cheese steak and it was delicious. I appreciate the fact that the steak was tasty and not over powered by onion flavor, same with the cheese. I added lettuce and tomato, it all tasted fresh! Salt n vinegar chips, yumm. I was there with a very busy toddler and i appreciate them bringing the sub to our table, it was like paying fast food prices and getting something home made. Come to think of it, even their cookies taste home made. I'm looking forward to my next visit when i try the hot pepper relish.

I definitely would be interested in trying it again, regardless though it definitely satisfied my craving!
